Heaton Stannington v Newcastle United XI 1st October 2014 Friendly

Newcastle United kindly sent their reserve side to help us celebrate the recent ground upgrades at Grounsell Park that were needed to be part of the Northern League. The young Newcastle side managed by Peter Beardsley proved a little too strong for us running out 8-1 winners on the night. The scoreline was largely irrelevant, thankfully, it was more about the sense of occasion. Wonderful to see a very large crowd and a wonderful goal by Dean Deagle for The Stan made it a great night for all at Grounsell Park
