Newburn - Tyne Riverside Country Park - January 2015

A nice bright day with a little of the morning mist still hanging around.









































Known as 'beehive ovens' they were built in the mid 18th century to burn the coal from the nearby Isabella pit to produce Coke for Spencer's Steelworks and the Solway Hematite Iron Company.









A rather large bird of prey probably electrocuted by the power wires directly above where this photo was taken.
